In the days before his death, Michael Jackson had taken to writing Post-It notes and leaving them scattered around his living space. Some of the notes are harmless reminders, but others begin to paint a picture of a mind beginning to fall apart. Were the drugs taking their toll on the pop star?

The News of the World has uncovered a series of “wishes for the world” which were left on the mirror in the tragic star’s cluttered bathroom.

On Post-its notes and sheets of paper, they were scribbled as the doomed 50-year-old star tried to focus his mind on the daunting London tour dates ahead through a drug-induced haze.

In one the dazed singer even had to remind himself to include one of his BIGGEST HITS in the concerts.

Friends believe he was using the messages to gee himself up for rehearsals in the week of his death.

One said: “These notes show that Michael was positive until the last – but also what a mess his mind must have been as he fought to keep it all together towards the end.”

The death of Michael Jackson was homicide due to intoxication by anaesthetic, an LA coroner has said.

The singer died in June from cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.

The powerful anaesthetic Propofol and Lorazepam, a sedative, were the “primary drugs responsible for Mr Jackson’s death”, the report said.

Police have interviewed his doctor, Conrad Murray, but he has not been named as a suspect. He has strenuously denied any wrongdoing.

The manner of death has been ruled: Homicide,” it adds. In the US, the crime of homicide includes manslaughter.

A cocktail of drugs – including Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine, Lorazepam and Ephedrine – were detected in his body, the report said.

The full toxicology report remains sealed, at the request of the LA Police Department and the city’s district attorney. Read on…

So Michael death has been confirmed as a homicide. But why isn’t Conrad Murray a suspect? The situation during that fateful afternoon certainly seems suspicious, and the excuses he made for not calling 911 immediately did seem a little flimsy.

If Michael Jackson died from a lethal level of the powerful anesthetic propofol, then his personal physician would have had to inject much more of the drug than he reportedly told police, medical experts said.

That opinion is based on court records unsealed in Houston on Monday in which Los Angeles police detectives recount Dr. Conrad Murray’s statement to them after the pop star’s death.

Murray said he had been giving Jackson 50 milligrams of propofol a night, and that he gave Jackson 25 milligrams of propofol on the night of his death, according to documents – far below the dosage required to anesthetize someone and keep him asleep, several experts said.

“It doesn’t make any sense,” said Dr. John Dombrowski, a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. “I cannot believe that was the number that was given. Such a small amount won’t tip anyone over in terms of respiratory depression.”

More likely, he said, is that the numbers in the documents are in error.

Toxicology reports cited in court records said “lethal levels” of propofol were in Jackson’s blood. Murray said nothing he gave Jackson should have led to his death and that he truthfully answered detectives’ questions. (source)

Interesting. This doctor just can’t seem to get his name out of the (very) unwanted spotlight.

We’ve been reading a lot about the strange drug Propofol and its role in the Michael Jackson death. But what exactly does it do, and how dangerous is it? Newsweek interviewed Dr. David Kloth to get some helpful background about the anesthetic that Dr. Conrad Murray administered to the pop star.

“Propofol is a medication that was invented 20 to 25 years ago for anesthesia. It’s what we call a sedative hypnotic. It puts you to sleep; it makes you forget things,” says Dr. David Kloth, past president of American Society of Interventionism Pain Physicians and current president of Connecticut Pain Society. It’s used in the emergency room and during surgery for sedation. The drug is an ideal for anesthesia because it works quickly and leaves very little lingering effects when used correctly. “It comes on very quickly; it also wears off very quickly. If someone’s on a continuous drip, and you turn it off, in five or 10 minutes, they’re wide awake,” says Kloth.

Jackson, who reportedly suffered from debilitating insomnia, may have been seeking a little shut eye with the aid of this drug. What makes his death more tragic is that propofol wouldn’t have helped his exhaustion. “It does not cause stage 4 REM sleep,” Kloth says. “Michael Jackson was unfortunately either misinformed or misunderstood … He would actually wake unrested, because the brain did not enter the appropriate stage of sleep.”

So in addition to being dangerous, the drug didn’t even help Jackson’s exhaustion. Sounds like he was getting a lot of faulty medical advice while his health deteriorated. Was his untimely death inevitable?

The long-delayed toxicology reports from Michael Jackson’s autopsy are supposedly going public by the end of this week. The anticipation surrounding these results is heightened by news that Dr. Conrad Murray is in a world of trouble- investigators believe it was Murray who injected Jackson with the anesthetic propofol. If these tox reports indicate that the propofol killed Jackson, that could be damning evidence for a manslaughter case against the doctor.

ABC News reports the following:

The King of Pop, for all intents and purposes, was dead — killed, ABC News has learned, by a lethal cocktail of prescription drugs that included OxyContin and Demerol.

But according to The Associate Press, investigators believe it was Dr. Conrad Murray who injected the pop icon around midnight with propofol, the powerful anesthetic authorities believe ultimately killed him.

“This doctor is in serious trouble,” criminal defense attorney Roy Black told “Good Morning America” today.

That’s not all. One chilling paragraph from that same article shows that this wasn’t Jackson’s first experience with the dangerous propofol:

An official close to the investigation told The Associated Press that Jackson relied on propofol like an alarm clock, instructing doctors to stop the IV when he wanted to wake up. It’s a drug authorities believe he may have been using for two years.

Dr. Conrad Murray has been floating in and out of suspicion since the death of pop sensation Michael Jackson. Earlier this month he had been cleared of any potential charges, but now he has come back under scrutiny. Will he be charged with manslaughter? The investigation continues. Search warrants have been filed in order to search through Murray’s personal life. The Los Angeles Times has the story:

Michael Jackson’s personal physician was identified as a suspect in the Los Angeles Police Department’s manslaughter investigation into the pop star’s death, according to court records filed Thursday in Houston.

A pair of search warrants filed in Harris County District Court stated that investigators were looking for “items constituting evidence of the offense of manslaughter that tend to show that Dr. Conrad Murray committed the said criminal offense.”

The searches, which were carried out Wednesday at Murray’s medical clinic and storage unit in Houston, gave authorities access to billing records, medication orders, shipping receipts, billing receipts, medical records and “implements and instruments used in the commission of a crime.”

The court records were the first public confirmation by police that Murray was a focus of their probe. Detectives previously had interviewed Murray, but had declined to identify him as a suspect.

“I do not know what they are looking for, and I can’t possibly tell you how anything they took in any way connects with the death of Michael Jackson,” said Murray’s attorney, Edward Chernoff, who was present at both of the searches. Read on…

Murray still denies giving Michael Jackson anything that would result in the death of a patient. However, given all the physicians and drugs surrounding Michael Jackson, it sure seems like someone dropped the ball.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis thinks the early fame that Michael Jackson accrued would be the reason for his early death. Childhood fame is often the catalyst that starts a long road of adulthood problems, namely drug abuse. One India has this article where she talks about her struggles with drug abuse, and she links Jackson’s problems with Propofol to his childhood in the spotlight.

In a blog on the HuffingtonPost website, she states: “The explanation is that this moment (the Pepsi ad accident) was the drug start point that eventually took over his life. I don’t believe it. The pain he suffered was from his birth, from his being and becoming the commodity that then made him the omnipotent King of the Pop-Goes-The-Weasel-Jacko-In-The-Neverland-Box that destroyed him,” she added.

Like the late King of Pop, Curtis was pushed into the world of show business at a young age, as the child star daughter of screen icon Tony Curtis – and she blames the early exposure to fame for her addiction to painkillers.

The actress states: “Few children, put into the intense focus of their precious youth being marketed for other’s pleasure, come out unscathed and with any sense of mental balance. Rarely are the parents really held accountable for the fragile, destroyed youths as many of the young people get the f**k away as fast as their agents and lawyers get them… but the imprint is there, it cannot be undone without a painful process of self discovery and as we know… pain needs to be killed… not tolerated and examined.”

The pressure of fame really is too much for a child. In truth, it is often too much to handle for adults. But for children the high pressure lifestyle hurts their development and gives them a warped sense of their own self worth. And as they move into adulthood, these child stars often feel the need to turn to various vices. Parents really should think twice before allowing their child to suffer the fate of fame.

Current evidence just isn’t showing foul play in Jackson’s death. However, that doesn’t mean the doctors are completely off the hook. There could still be some form of negligent charges on the horizon, due to the discovery of Propofol in Jackson’s home.

The investigation is far from over, said the source, but doctors ordered to hand over the star’s medical records are not suspects. While homicide charges may be unlikely, investigators have discussed other possible counts against the docs if they administered the potentially lethal drug Propofol to the singer, the source noted.

The toxicology results from Jackson’s autopsy were expected within this next week, but now that deadline has been pushed back by nearly two weeks. This information could be vital – if there are any suspicious chemical levels found, it could mean homicide charges would be brought up against Michael Jackson’s medical team.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Thursday that those results are expected to take two more weeks, though he did not specify what is causing the delay. TMZ reported that unnamed sources pinned the delay on incomplete reports from several outside consultants. The final toxicology screen should detail what drugs were in Jackson’s system when he died and could determine whether criminal charges are brought in the case. If police find that the singer died as a result of an overdose of medication administered by medical personnel, that person or persons could face criminal charges.

Although Los Angeles police officials backpedaled earlier this week from reports that the probe into Jackson’s death could become a homicide investigation, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office spokesperson Sandi Gibbons told TMZ on Thursday that the LAPD’s investigation is criminal.

As other members of the Jackson family leap into the spotlight, we all knew Tito wasn’t going to be far behind. In this interview posted on E! Online, he discusses the families worries about Michael potential drug abuse, along with a few other controversial moments of his brother’s life.

First (and most bizarrely) it was Joe Jackson. Then La Toya Jackson. Now it’s Tito Jackson’s turn to, if not cash in on his brother’s name—and knowing the British tabloids, that’s a fairly big if—at least get his turn in the media spotlight.

The 55-year-old Jackson gave a lengthy interview to Britain’s Daily Mirror yesterday, revealing, among many shocking disclosures, that he and his siblings were so convinced that Michael was abusing prescription drugs, they once forced an intervention at Neverland Ranch.

“We had to act,” he said. “It was me, my sisters Janet, Rebbie and La Toya, and my brothers Jackie and Randy. Read on…
