Evan Chandler Commits Suicide
The news this week is that Evan Chandler has committed suicide. Those who are fans of Michael Jackson will surely recognize him as the father of the first boy who accused M.J. of molesting him back in 1994 – a case that was settled for an incredible 20 million, even though evidence didn’t support Chandler’s case.
Because of this terrible history, Michael Jackson fans are unsympathetic, despite the fact that Chandler died a lonely recluse.
“Karma is a —–,” writes Delonda of Chicago.
“Money is the root of all evil,” adds TJ of Atlanta.
“Good. Let the liar burn in —-,” writes Jazz. “[Michael] settled because he wanted to move on with his life. The real question is why did the family settle. If your child was molested, there’s no chance … you would take the money. You would want that person in jail — PERIOD. MJ is innocent.” (RollingOut.com)
One fan even called for his son to step forward and admit to the lies that he and his father spread.
“I hope this means that justice has been served,” writes Maria, before addressing Jordan directly. “Jodie: sorry for the loss of your father, estranged or not. You now must know how Michael’s children and his numerous fans are feeling. Now that you are no longer under his influence, do the right thing and clear Michael’s name. Clear your conscience so you do not end up like your father. Rest in peace, Michael. We will love you forever.”
Suspicion still reigns among fans, who are certain of Chandler’s deceit – deceit that caused Michael’s image to be tarnished even to this day. Recently Ian Halperin published his book Unmasked: the Final Years of Michael Jackson which reveals that Chandler had premeditated his attempt on Michael and his plan to financially gain from him. The book cites Chandler’s motive – apparently Jackson had cut ties with the family.
Perhaps soon Michael will finally have his name cleared.
